A Foreign Perspective
Dermatology has always had practitioners who are keen on their own formula or combination, since the skin-gut axis is well known, and we are beginning to understand how eczema changes the colonies of bacteria, fungi, yeasts and viruses on the skin. Most of us have a slightly acidic stratum corneum, the waterproof barrier layer. However a few eczema patients do have a gene issue with fillagrin. It breaks up and allows germs in and they release toxins.
In parts of the world treatment locally may be from a herbalist and they do like to scarify the skin and insert herbs, or wear a belt with herbs. Perhaps this is a primitive approach. And yet, there is some science. Not perfect, but good.
